genesis tapestries
I am fascinated by the rich history and diverse cultural heritage of our ancestors and the threads that bind us together. With this series, my artistic expression takes the form of tapestries, meticulously crafted to represent a bygone era that was more arduous yet straightforward.
Photos of my mother and father have been intricately woven to explore an interplay of emotions, juxtaposing elements of elegance with themes of modesty, intimacy with vulnerability, and strength with sensitivity. They serve as a visual narrative, delving into the complexities inherent in navigating personal identity amidst the influences of family history and societal expectations.

nausy nausy
2023, Polyester Fiberfill, Felt Fabric, Thread
The word "nausy" means nice or caress in the Persian language. We say it to children while caressing their cheek to teach them how to interact with kindness and gentleness.
Nausy Nausy is a site-specific installation piece that’s shape and size change to fit in whatever space it lives in. It can be interactive, with floor pieces to sit on and touch or caress; or it can be a wall piece to enjoy strictly visually. The playful nature of the piece invites viewers to reconnect with their innate sense of wonder and simplicity. It offers a momentary escape from the gravity of daily life, allowing one to explore the world with a sense of curiosity and innocence, reminiscent of the pure and unburdened perspectives we held as children.
covid community quilt
2023, Yarn, Wire, Wool, 216 x 120 x 5 in
The COVID Community Quilt is a collective story of hope, perseverance, and the unwavering power of community. It stands as a testament to the power of art to heal and connect, inspiring future generations to find unity and creativity, even when faced with challenges that seem insurmountable.
During the unprecedented times of the pandemic, the creation of this large flower crochet installation emerged as a powerful symbol of unity and resilience. An example of strength within social bonds, this artwork was crafted with the collective efforts of a diverse community, each contributing their individual crochet pieces in isolation. The project fostered a sense of belonging, with participants finding solace in the realization that they were part of something bigger.
While confined to our home, the COVID Community Quilt reflects our adaptability as humans. This site-specific installation is flexible and adaptable, much like the human spirit. Each flower, each stitch represents the will to break down boundaries and break past limitations through collaboration and the desire to connect with others. This project serves as a reminder that being physically separated does not mean that we are isolated.
